We have a Dell server with our domain controller and file share (on separate array) on it. About 4TB right now. We need to be able to access this file share on another computer in case this one's motherboard dies or something.
We also have a secondary server that acts as a second domain controller and additional DNS, DHCP, etc. It has the same hard drive space available, so I'd like to get an active copy of all the shared drive on it.
I've read a little about DFS-R, but not sure where to start. Should I copy all of the files over first, then turn it on and let it sync things up, or just start the replication and let it copy that way? It's our production/live use server, so I don't want anything to be even a little bit slowed down, or minimize slow/down time as much as possible.
